AB63 Office of Binational Health
Would create the state Office of Binational Health. Would require the office to submit an annual report to the DHS, Legislature and the Governor. (PASSED ASSY, IN SEN RULES)

AB611 Prenatal Health: Information Dissemination
Would require DHS to review the adequacy of prenatal nutrition information available to physicians providing health care to pregnant women and report its findings to the legislature. (PASSED ASSY, IN SENATE H&HS)

AB1061 Health Coverage: Health Care Programs
Would repeal the Healthy Families program, Medi-Cal programs, the Maternal and Child Health program act and other related programs. (FAILED JR 61)

AB1400 -- Childhood Lead Poisoning
Would require DHS to establish 10 one- year pilot programs to screen children for elevated blood lead levels. (IN ASSY APPROP SUSPENSE)

SB148 Health Care Coverage: Phenylketonuria
Would mandate that health care service plan contracts provide coverage for the testing and treatment of phenylketonuria. (PASSED SENATE, IN ASSY HEALTH)

SB265 Health Care Coverage
Would expand who must provide health care coverage and would forbid denying coverage due to a preexisting condition among other things. (PASSED SENATE, AT ASSY DESK)

SB441 Motorized Scooters
Would establish the requirement for safety helmets and other provisions regarding the use of motorized scooters. (PASSED SENATE, IN ASSY TRANS)

SB480 Health Care Coverage
Would require health coverage be universally available to every resident of California by July 1, 2003. (IN SENATE APPROP SUSPENSE)

SB493 Taxpayer Contributions: California Birth Defects Research Fund
Would allow taxpayers to designate on their tax returns that a specified amount in excess of their tax liability be transferred to the CBDRF. (PASSED SEN, AT ASSY DESK)

SB567 Vehicles: Child Passenger Restraint System: Seatbelts

SB1191 Hereditary and Congenital Diseases: Hemoglobin Disorders
Would require DHS to develop a pilot program to determine the cost and effectiveness of cord blood banking. (PASSED SENATE, IN ASSY APPROP SUSPENSE)

SB1197 Motorcycles: Helmets
Would repeal the entire section regarding the requirements to wear a safety helmet when operating or riding on a motorcycle, motor-driven cycle, or motorized bicycle. (FAILED JR 61)
